After three years of not raising prices, our Jungle Farm CSA Vegetable Box program fees are seeing a nominal increase as of February 1. We made this decision in an effort to keep pace with rising input costs, but we worked to ensure the program will continue to be cost effective for you, too.
The total program cost for the 14 week Vegetable Box is $560, with a half-share costing $335. Half-share Vegetable Boxes are a perfect fit, both quantity and price-wise, for smaller households such as seniors, singles, and young couples. We deliberated these prices to ensure our Jungle Farm community is still able to provide nourishing food to your families and remain within your budget. Locally grown produce can be an economic and practical part of your meal planning, and we provide a Recipe Card with each CSA Vegetable Box with a suggested recipe to prepare using that week’s produce.
Our farm grows a large variety of vegetables. Along with some less common vegetables that you might try for the first time, most of our veggie boxes are filled with leafy greens, potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, squash, berries and other nourishing tried-and-true family favourites. The contents of our CSA Box will change (and grow!) as we progress through the growing season!
Your budget will love the extra benefits that being a CSA member provides – last year we shared additional u-pick opportunities virtually every week, which added up to $825 in products that were made available to each member (as weather allowed). Purchasing a 14 week supply produce, picked fresh each week, is a helpful way to budget, too, because once it’s paid for your produce portion on your grocery list is checked off for nearly four months!
