The Jungle Farm’s Christmas Box will fill your pantry with wonderful farm products and save you the hassle of running from shop to shop to find fresh and unique items for your festive season. Winter vegetables, fresh-to-frozen berry pies and crisps, unique preserves and pickles – we have made our list and checked it twice! And we think you’ll like it – details are in the link below.
Choose from three packages: Christmas Vegetables only, Christmas Bag or the full Christmas Basket. Pick up will be December 13 or 14.
The deadline for signing up for the 2024 Christmas Box is December 6th.
The Jungle Farm vegetable box program is your chance to receive a weekly box of locally grown, seasonal fruits and vegetables for 14 consecutive weeks for one low price. Boxes include fruits and vegetables such as spinach, peas, strawberries, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, beans, beets and many more that are in season and plentiful.
One of the favourite parts of our program for past participants is our u-pick option. This allows you to get extra produce for the same price. On weeks that weather allows, we will have one item in the box you can pick yourself. For example if I am picking peas for you, you will receive one pound. If you are picking your own you will get to pick 3 pounds.
Each week you will receive a newsletter with a list of what vegetables will be in your box, recipes to use the produce and the u-pick option for that week. Of course when you come to visit us, you are welcome to pick and purchase other fruits and vegetables AND play in our playground. For some families this is one of their highlights of the season, enjoying being outside and on our farm.
By paying up front, you help support our farm as we incur the costs for seed, equipment and wage expenses.
Our program starts on June 6, with your choice of Thursday or Friday pickup, and ends October 3rd or 4th, 2024. You will have 14 weeks of tasty local fruits and vegetables. The cost for the program is $525, and payment is due before the program begins. Payment options are available – check out the application form for details.
The number of boxes we can supply are limited. Order early to avoid your family missing out on quality, locally grown produce.
Your vegetable box will consist of freshly picked, seasonal produce grown at The Jungle Farm and other members of Innisfail Growers. Generally you will receive traditional produce like strawberries, peas, beans, beets, corn, asparagus, pumpkins. To keep it fun, we may add a bit of unusual produce to surprise you! We will include a recipe and other information to help you enjoy all your produce in our weekly e-newsletter.
Pick-up: Your vegetable box will be available at The Jungle Farm General Store on Thursday or Fridays between 12-6 pm.
$120 – Four week long
If you need more vegetables, start early with our Salad Basket! This will be a 4 week program starting June 6 or 7, 2024. You can expect lettuce, spinach, asparagus, tomatoes, baby beets, kale, herbs in your basket. This box is full of great vegetables that will make your family fresh salads.
$200 – Five week long
Satisfy your sweet tooth with our delicious Bristish Columbia grown fruit box! This will be a 5 week program starting the last week of July. You can expect cherries, blueberries, grapes, apricots, blackberries, plums, and peaches in your basket. This box is full of great fruits that are perfect for a quick snack or sharing!
$90 for Thanksgiving 2024
This is your chance to get one last box of locally grown storage fruits and vegetables from our farm. This box is larger in case you are entertaining for the holiday. If not, don’t worry as all the vegetables will store for 2-3 weeks for your family to enjoy throughout the month of October. Pick up dates for this one week box is October 10 or 11, 2024.
$90 for preserve add-on
If you have not tried all our different homemade preserves, you will enjoy this option. You will have a total of 12 jars from July till September. You can choose when it is most convenient to come and pick up your favourite preserves.
